Celebrating over a decade in power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on the 11-year journey of the BJP-led NDA government, calling it a period of “strength, self-reliance, and national pride.” He particularly emphasized India’s progress in the defense sector, where significant strides have been made in modernization and indigenous production.
Posting on platform X, Modi acknowledged the people’s role in propelling India forward, stating that the citizens’ shared commitment had fortified the nation. The post was a response to a tweet from @MyGovIndia, the government’s citizen engagement wing, which praised Modi’s leadership for elevating India’s global status through strengthened defense, expanded strategic partnerships, and notable milestones in space.
MyGovIndia also emphasized that Modi’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) campaign ignited a surge of innovation and strengthened global engagement in the trade and technology sectors, contributing to the creation of a more resilient economy.
Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda added to the occasion by listing major achievements since 2014. He revealed that India’s economy has moved from the 10th to the 5th largest globally and is now on track to become the 4th. The nation is currently the fastest-growing major economy worldwide.
Nadda detailed how targeted programs have empowered historically disadvantaged communities, such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and women. These include longer maternity leave policies and expanded support for women-led Self-Help Groups.
The country has also witnessed a dramatic fall in extreme poverty—down by 80%—with around 250 million people lifted out of poverty. During the COVID-19 crisis, India ran the world’s largest vaccination drive, distributing 2.2 billion free doses, and led humanitarian efforts like Operation Ganga and Vaccine Maitri.
Nadda further pointed to the transformation in India’s political culture, shifting from vote-bank politics to development-oriented governance. The NDA’s focus has been on reform, performance, and transformation—forming the core of its ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) agenda.
Additional decisive actions include the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir, the completion of the long-pending Chenab Bridge, and major reforms such as the abolition of Triple Talaq, amendments to the Waqf Act, the introduction of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), demonetization, and the passage of the women’s reservation bill.
Collectively, these developments reflect a transformed India—stronger, forward-looking, and earning greater respect on the global stage.
