Austrian physicist and Nobel laureate Anton Zeilinger, after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Vienna on Wednesday, called the Indian leader “a very spiritual person.” Zeilinger expressed that this quality is something more world leaders should possess.
Renowned for his contributions to quantum physics, Zeilinger shared that his discussion with PM Modi was very pleasant. They conversed about spiritual matters, the potential of quantum information and technology, and the foundational principles of quantum physics.
Zeilinger praised PM Modi’s vision of “unleashing India’s entrepreneurial energy”. He highlighted the need to encourage talented young individuals to pursue their own ideas, believing that this can lead to groundbreaking innovations, especially in a country like India with its “vast spiritual” heritage.
During his visit, PM Modi also met with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen in Vienna. They discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including the environment and climate change. PM Modi described the meeting as very productive and mentioned that they explored ways to strengthen India-Austria relations across numerous fields.
The leaders exchanged views on environmental sustainability and global warming. President Van der Bellen thanked PM Modi for visiting Austria, highlighting the long-standing friendship and robust economic ties between the two nations, which they aim to expand further.
Additionally, PM Modi engaged with business leaders from both countries, encouraging Austrian companies to invest in India’s infrastructure, energy, emerging technologies, and other sectors.
