In the finals held on March 19, Raut achieved a remarkable feat by defeating six-game champion Troy Meyer and nine-game champion Ben Chan.
During the intense battle, Raut and Meyer vied for the lead in the first half of the game, with Meyer leading at $9,400, Raut at $5,400, and Chan at $3,400 heading into Double Jeopardy! Despite Chan’s efforts to stay in the game by going all-in on both Daily Doubles, he was unable to maintain his lead. As the Final Jeopardy! round commenced, Raut surged ahead after Meyer failed to provide the correct response, securing victory with a score of $13,399. Chan claimed second place with $6,400, while Meyer settled for third place with $6,399.
Reflecting on his victory, Raut acknowledged the role of luck in the game and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete. This win marked Raut’s second appearance on Jeopardy!, following his successful four-day run in 2022, where he amassed winnings totaling $98,000. Despite his initial success, Raut remained humble, recognizing that intelligence comes in various forms and that success on Jeopardy! does not define one’s overall intelligence.
