Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday was marked not only with domestic celebrations but also with a flood of video tributes from world leaders, underscoring his growing influence on the global stage. On Wednesday, social media was filled with heartfelt messages from leaders including Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, Australia’s Anthony Albanese, and New Zealand’s Christopher Luxon.
The messages showcased Modi’s role in reshaping India’s global presence and strengthening international partnerships. Netanyahu, in a 25-second video, spoke warmly of his personal friendship with Modi. Addressing him by his first name, the Israeli Prime Minister said, “Prime Minister Modi, my good friend Narendra, I want to wish you a happy birthday. You have accomplished so much for India, and together we have built a strong friendship between India and Israel. I look forward to seeing you soon so we can take our partnership to even greater heights. Happy birthday, my friend.”
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also shared a personal note through a 21-second video message. Calling Modi his “friend,” Albanese emphasized the close ties between the two nations and praised the contributions of the Indian diaspora in Australia. “Happy Birthday to my friend Prime Minister Modi. I look forward to many more years of friendship and progress. Australia is proud of its strong relationship with India, and we value the incredible contribution of the Indian community here,” he said. Australia, along with India, remains a key member of the Quad alliance.
The longest tribute came from New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who recorded a nearly 40-second video message. Beginning his greeting with “Kia ora, namaskar,” Luxon highlighted Modi’s “wisdom of leadership” and his vision of guiding India toward becoming a developed nation by 2047. Reflecting on his earlier visit to India in March, he expressed New Zealand’s eagerness to expand cooperation in security and invited Modi to visit his country soon.
Other leaders also joined the chorus of congratulations, including former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, each highlighting Modi’s role in driving India’s prominence worldwide.
Together, the birthday messages reflected not only warm personal ties but also the recognition of India’s growing importance in international affairs under Modi’s leadership.
