Vivek Ramaswamy, a prominent figure considered for the Republican Vice Presidential nomination, offered advice with a touch of humor to the Democrats amid growing speculation over alternatives to President Biden. The Indian-American billionaire suggested that delaying the selection of their candidate might actually benefit the Democrats. Contrary to popular belief, he argued, it’s better for the Democrats to wait, as there will be an initial honeymoon period after a new candidate is chosen.
Ramaswamy elaborated that the Democrats’ ideal scenario would be to hold the election during this honeymoon phase, avoiding public scrutiny. He remarked, “Many experts are now predicting it won’t be Biden, which has been obvious for over a year. The real question is what will happen in the next four months. If the Democrats delay the switch, it actually works in their favor.”
He further explained, “There will be an initial 3-4 month honeymoon phase where the public, supported by mainstream media coverage, is likely to warmly receive anyone they choose as Biden’s successor. At the very least, the public will feel relieved, similar to a prisoner feeling gratitude for their liberator.”
Ramaswamy emphasized that the Democrats’ best strategy is to have the election during this honeymoon phase, long before the new nominee faces public scrutiny. He argued that every day from now until late August to make the switch is advantageous for them. Conventional wisdom suggests it’s problematic to swap candidates late, but Ramaswamy believes this view is increasingly incorrect.
Meanwhile, he stated that the Republicans will remain steadfast in their principles, regardless of whom the Democratic machine nominates. “Values like individual, family, nation, and God will always triumph over race, gender, sexuality, and climate. Trump’s embrace of national pride and American exceptionalism resonates with many Americans, irrespective of race or party. That’s how we win and save our nation,” Ramaswamy posted.
