The US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Marisa Lago, will travel to India from May 31 to June 2 to advance commercial and strategic partnerships between the two nations.
During her visit, Lago will meet with private sector representatives in both Bengaluru and Chennai, according to the official release. As per the released schedule for India, she will also meet with U.S. and Indian semiconductor and related companies to advance the U.S.-India Memorandum of Understanding establishing a semiconductor supply chain and innovation partnership.
Lago and India’s top tech executives will talk about how to work together to improve the resilience of supply chains and other important and developing technologies. According to the press release, she will also meet with businesses to discuss shared objectives for renewable energy, cutting-edge batteries, and electric cars.
The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) encourages trade and investment, helps American companies and employees export and grow abroad, and assures fair trade and compliance by enforcing trade laws and agreements.
