The United States is ready to elevate its relationship with India even further, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said, underlining the growing strategic momentum between the two countries.
Sharing visuals of External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s engagements in Washington with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Gor highlighted the significance of sustained high-level dialogue between New Delhi and Washington. He said engagement at the highest levels reflects the depth of trust and expanding cooperation across sectors, describing the partnership as having “limitless potential”.
The ambassador’s remarks come amid intensifying bilateral interactions focused on trade, economic collaboration, energy security and strategic alignment. Jaishankar recently participated in the Critical Minerals Ministerial convened by the US, where India reiterated its support for structured international cooperation to reduce risks in global supply chains.
During his meetings with senior US officials, Jaishankar discussed a wide spectrum of issues central to the India-US partnership. These included trade, energy cooperation, nuclear engagement, defence ties, critical minerals and emerging technologies. Both sides agreed to accelerate follow-up mechanisms to advance shared priorities.
According to official readouts, the discussions also focused on formalising cooperation in critical minerals exploration, mining and processing, an area that has emerged as a key pillar of the bilateral economic and strategic relationship.
The meetings took place against the backdrop of a newly announced trade agreement between the two countries aimed at lowering barriers and expanding market access. Leaders on both sides have described the deal as a major step toward unlocking new economic opportunities and strengthening shared energy security goals.
The regional and multilateral dimensions of the partnership were also emphasised, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation through the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue. A stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific region was acknowledged as vital to advancing common interests.
Ambassador Gor’s statement signals Washington’s intent to build on the current momentum and further deepen one of its most important global partnerships, as India and the United States continue to align their economic, strategic and geopolitical priorities.
