Michael Kratsios, Assistant to US President Donald Trump and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, will lead the US delegation to India’s AI Impact Summit later this month. Kratsios highlighted America’s leadership in AI innovation and emphasized the importance of sharing expertise with global partners.
The delegation will include key officials such as Undersecretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg, Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade William Kimmitt, and Undersecretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Jeffrey Kessler. Together, they will join the US Ambassador to India to represent Team USA at the summit, which is being held in New Delhi from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam.
This five-day event marks the first time the AI Impact Summit is hosted in the Global South. Designed around the pillars of People, Planet, and Progress, the summit will bring together global leaders, policymakers, technology innovators, and experts to discuss AI’s role in governance, sustainable development, and industrial application. The AI Impact Expo, spanning over 70,000 square meters, will feature more than 300 exhibitors from 30 countries, presenting real-world AI deployments across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, finance, and governance.
The summit’s deliberations are structured around seven focus areas, called “Chakras,” covering Human Capital, Social Inclusion, Safe and Trusted AI, Innovation and Efficiency, Science, Democratization of AI Resources, and AI for Economic and Social Growth. These frameworks aim to enhance multilateral cooperation, ethical AI adoption, workforce readiness, and inclusive economic benefits.
In addition, the event will feature Pre-Summit Events and Regional AI Conferences across several Indian states. Flagship initiatives include the AI for ALL: Global Impact Challenge, AI by HER: Global Impact Challenge, YUVAi: Global Youth Challenge, and a Research Symposium on February 18. The summit will also release the AI Compendium, documenting AI applications across priority sectors.
Supported by IndiaAI Mission, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Digital India, and Software Technology Parks of India, the summit aims to position India as a global AI hub, promote responsible technology adoption, strengthen governance frameworks, and foster partnerships between government, industry, academia, and startups.
