The Indian Consulate in Seattle recently hosted a Pre-Summit Roundtable to set the stage for the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026, with US Representatives Adam Smith and Michael Baumgartner among the key attendees.
The event gathered prominent tech leaders from the Greater Seattle area, who presented insights on how artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping global industries, particularly Agri-Tech, as well as the rising potential of data centers and digital infrastructure investments in India.
In a post shared on X, the Consulate expressed gratitude to both US Representatives for joining the roundtable, noting, “India AI Impact Summit 2026: Pre-Event Briefing Session hosted in Seattle! Thank US Rep. Adam Smith and US Rep. Michael Baumgartner for gracing the event. Deep appreciation to AI and Tech leaders for underscoring the three guiding principles of India’s AI journey — People, Planet, and Progress.”
During the session, participants briefed Congressman Adam Smith, who serves as the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, and Congressman Michael Baumgartner, a Member of the House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committees, on India’s expanding AI ecosystem. They discussed the nation’s framework for global cooperation, built around seven central themes:
- Safe and Trusted AI
- Human Capital Development
- Scientific Collaboration
- Resilience, Innovation, and Efficiency
- Inclusion and Social Empowerment
- Democratizing AI Resources
- Economic Growth and Social Good
This Seattle briefing, held at the new Chancery premises of the Consulate, marked the first in a series of pre-summit events planned before the main summit. Additional sessions are expected in early 2026 at major US universities in the Pacific Northwest, alongside workshops with technology and AI industry stakeholders.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is scheduled for February 19–20, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. It will be the first global-scale AI summit hosted in the Global South, bringing together governments, businesses, academic institutions, and startups to convert AI’s vast potential into measurable outcomes aligned with India’s vision of “AI for All.”
