Following the grand Maha Kumbh, the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) has rolled out 10 exclusive tour packages tailored for spiritual and historical exploration. These curated trips are designed for tourists keen on discovering Prayagraj and surrounding sacred destinations such as Kashi, Vindhyachal, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya, and Maihar.
These themed itineraries include a variety of one-day, weekend, and multi-day tours. Options such as Prayag Darshan (1 day), Prayagraj-Varanasi (1 day), Prayagraj-Varanasi-Vindhyachal (2 days/1 night), and Prayagraj-Vindhyachal-Varanasi-Ayodhya (3 days/2 nights) cater to different preferences and schedules. Additional packages cover routes to Chitrakoot, Maihar, Bandhavgarh, Panna, and Khajuraho. A dedicated Prayagraj Heritage Walk, available on weekends, also enriches the offering with a focus on the city’s cultural and architectural landmarks.
DP Singh, Senior Manager at UPSTDC, shared that these tours were introduced to meet the growing demand among pilgrims arriving in Sangam city. Many devotees not only visit Prayagraj for the holy dip but also express interest in traveling to neighboring spiritual sites. The department responded by crafting routes that seamlessly connect these religious centers.
Tourists can conveniently reserve their spots online or offline. The packages come with complimentary pick-up and drop-off services, utilizing UPSTDC’s Urbania buses to ensure comfort. The Prayag Darshan tour, for example, includes stops at iconic locations like the Sangam, Akshayvat, Hanuman Temple corridor, Anand Bhawan, and the Allahabad Museum.
The Heritage Walk package is a compact four-hour journey through All Saints Cathedral, Bhardwaj Ashram, Fort, Vijay Nagar Hall, and other notable landmarks. It covers entry tickets, transportation, a professional guide, bottled water, breakfast, and printed materials. Singh emphasized that the heritage walk is meant for visitors eager to witness the rich architectural and cultural history of Prayagraj in a guided, immersive way.
