Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a captivating video showcasing a bustling Nassau Veterans Coliseum, filled with over 13,000 Indian Americans attending the Modi & US event. Expressing his sentiments, PM Modi remarked, “An unforgettable community program in New York, deepening the bond with our diaspora!”
The gathering, primarily comprising attendees from New York and New Jersey, saw participation from Indian Americans across 40 states, with organizers utilizing sixty charter buses for transportation. During his address, PM Modi urged the Indian community in the U.S. to leverage their influence in enhancing ties between New Delhi and Washington.
The event featured lively performances, including folk singer Aditya Gadhvi, rapper Hanumankind, music composer DSP, and the San Diego duo Kiran + Nivi, entertaining the audience before PM Modi’s speech. Cultural presentations were a highlight, with the theme “The Echoes of India – A Journey Through Art and Tradition,” showcasing 382 renowned artists. Gadhvi performed the popular song “Har Ghar Tiranga,” accompanied by DSP, known for his work on the movie “Pushpa: The Rise.”
As attendees entered the coliseum, they were treated to performances by 117 artists, with more than 30 acts ranging from classical to fusion, celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage.
PM Modi addressed the crowd, referring to India as a “land of opportunities” and outlining his “three-fold sense of responsibility” during his third term. He noted the significance of the recent electoral mandate, stating, “What happened… ‘Abkibaar Modi Sarkaar.’” He emphasized the ambitious goals for his tenure, urging everyone to move forward with enhanced determination.
The Prime Minister conveyed a sense of optimism, stating that every Indian now believes in the country’s potential. He highlighted that India has transitioned from waiting for opportunities to actively creating them, with 250 million people lifted out of poverty in just a decade due to a shift in mindset and empowerment initiatives. He credited the emerging middle class for propelling India’s development and growth.
