U.S. Senator John Cornyn engaged in a meeting with Indian Consul General of Houston, D.C. Manjunath, on August 2, 2023. During their interaction, they delved into significant advancements in the relationship between India and the U.S., emphasizing the vital role played by the Indian-American community in Texas.
Distinguished Indian American business leaders were also present during this meeting. Manjunath expressed gratitude to Sen. Cornyn for his unwavering support in strengthening the partnership between India and the U.S., as conveyed by CGI Houston.
Last month, Manjunath assumed his responsibilities as the Indian Consul General in Houston. He engaged with the Indian-American community at an event hosted by the Indo-American Cham8ber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACC). At this gathering, he acknowledged the organization’s contribution to nurturing commercial and economic ties, and discussed avenues for further collaboration to fortify the bond between India and the U.S.
Since taking up his role, Manjunath has had discussions with Katherine Ho, the regional director of the U.S. State Department. Their conversations centered around enhancing diplomatic relations and fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between the two nations. Additionally, he interacted with the recently established Tamil Studies Chair Committee at the University of Houston.
Participating in the 200th birth anniversary commemoration of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswathi, organized by Arya Pratinidhi Sabha America and Arya Samaj of Greater Houston on July 28, the Consul General praised the efforts of the Samaj in the U.S. He also applauded the broader Indian American community for its role in nurturing the India-US Partnership.
