Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor has officially confirmed that his blockbuster film Animal is the first chapter of a thrilling three-part franchise. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the sequel, titled Animal Park, is already in development, with filming scheduled to commence in 2027.
Speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Ranbir shared his excitement about the trilogy’s ambitious scope. He revealed that Vanga had been crafting ideas for the sequels even before the release of the first movie. This long-term vision promises to expand on the rich narrative and complex characters introduced in Animal, which debuted in December 2023 to widespread acclaim for its gripping storyline and intense action sequences.
Ranbir expressed his enthusiasm for the next instalments, stating, “It’s incredibly exciting as I’ll get to portray both the protagonist and antagonist in the upcoming films. This is a rare and challenging opportunity with a truly original director at the helm.”
The Animal trilogy aims to deepen the narrative arc, with the sequel setting the stage for more dramatic confrontations and character evolution. Fans are eagerly awaiting Animal Park, which is expected to continue the franchise’s legacy of innovation and spectacle.
Besides the Animal franchise, Ranbir also discussed other projects in his pipeline, including Brahmastra Part Two by Ayan Mukerji and Love & War directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Animal, made with a budget of $12 million, achieved remarkable global success, grossing $110 million at the box office. With the announcement of its sequels, anticipation for the trilogy continues to soar.
