Tanishq, the luxury jewelry label under the Tata Group, has expanded its retail footprint in the United States by opening a spacious new showroom in Tysons, Virginia. The launch marks the brand’s debut in the Greater Washington, DC metropolitan area and represents its largest outlet in the country to date. The store spans nearly 5,000 square feet, offering an extensive assortment of more than 5,000 jewelry designs, including everyday pieces, bridal collections, and high-impact statement creations.
The Tysons location has seen strong footfall and encouraging early sales, driven largely by the region’s rapidly growing Indian community. Tanishq aims to use this flagship store as a strategic hub for connecting with the Indian diaspora seeking authentic craftsmanship, contemporary designs, and traditional motifs blended with global trends.
The showroom was officially inaugurated by Vinay Mohan Kwatra, India’s Ambassador to the United States, alongside Virginia State Senator Kannan Srinivasan. The event was also attended by Michael McCabe, Resident Director at Tata Sons North America, as well as community leaders and local stakeholders. Speaking at the ceremony, Suchita Sonalika, Director and Head of North America at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), emphasized the significance of Indian investment in the United States, noting that brands like Tanishq continue to build economic ties through retail expansion, job creation, and local engagement.
Tanishq has been steadily increasing its US presence. Prior to the Virginia launch, the brand opened new stores in Redmond near Seattle and in Cumming outside Atlanta, joining existing showrooms in New Jersey, Houston, Dallas, and Chicago. This rapid growth is part of Tanishq’s broader strategy to serve global Indian communities who seek premium jewelry rooted in cultural identity.
The company’s international journey began in 2020 with its first boutique in Dubai. Since then, Tanishq has expanded across the UAE, Qatar, the United States, and Singapore, establishing itself as a global name for Indian-inspired jewelry.
Looking ahead, the brand plans to accelerate its US expansion with upcoming store openings in Orlando, Florida, and Boston, Massachusetts. Tanishq has set a long-term goal of building more than 30 luxury boutiques across key American cities, underscoring its commitment to becoming a dominant player in the global jewelry retail landscape.
