The Federation of Indo American Seniors Association of North America (FISANA) recently welcomed Suresh Patel as its new president, succeeding Bharat Rana. Patel, who has dedicated 15 years to community service, also serves as the president of the Bridgewater Seniors Association. After moving from India to New Jersey 40 years ago and running a successful business, he shifted his focus to supporting the senior community post-retirement.
FISANA, an umbrella organization representing nearly 20 senior associations, hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including summer picnics, domestic trips, Diwali celebrations, and musical programs, providing entertainment and engagement opportunities for members.
Alongside Patel’s leadership, entrepreneur Piyush Patel has been elected as Chairperson, continuing his financial and logistical support for seniors. Vice Chairs Dr. Mukund Thakar, Subhash Doshi, and Rati Patel will also remain active in their roles. Patel extended an open invitation to other senior organizations to join FISANA, emphasizing the importance of collective strength for social and political advocacy.
As part of its ongoing cultural initiatives, FISANA has scheduled an exciting Gujarati drama by renowned artist Ketki Dave on March 23 at the Bridgewater Balaji Temple, promising an entertaining evening for the community.
