Suchitra Kamath has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who, a recognition reserved for individuals who have made lasting contributions in their professional and civic fields. Known for her ability to bridge business expertise with community leadership, Ms. Kamath has built an accomplished career that spans corporate banking, entrepreneurship, consulting, and civic service.
She currently serves as president of Business Karma, where she specializes in franchise consulting. Through this role, she connects individuals and investors with franchise opportunities that align with their goals, lifestyle, and financial plans. She has worked closely with both businesses and nonprofit organizations to foster growth, applying her knowledge of the industry, where she has been active since 2016.
Her earlier career was firmly rooted in banking. At Barclays Investment Bank in New York, she served in the office of the Chief Operating Officer of the Americas. Prior to that, she held the position of Vice President at Citigroup Inc., where she worked in client management, product and program development, and front-office sales on the trading floor. Regulatory changes in the banking sector eventually led her to entrepreneurship, where she successfully operated her own printing franchise before founding Business Karma.
Academically, Ms. Kamath holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s in Instrument Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She also earned professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and Food Protection Manager (CFPM) accreditation from ANAB.
Beyond business, she is deeply engaged in civic service. Appointed by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to the New Jersey-India Commission in 2024, she has also served on the NJ Department of Labor’s Employee Residency Review Committee since 2022. She sits on the Middlesex County Board of Social Services, is president of the county chapter of Women’s Political Caucus of NJ, and is Executive Director of Inspiring South Asian American Women (ISAAW). She also supports women in politics as a board member for Emerge NJ and Elect Women – NJ.
Her achievements have been recognized with awards such as the Rising Star Entrepreneurial Award in 2018, the Citi Velocity Cup in 2011, and honors from Minuteman Press International in 2017. A lifelong advocate for cultural education, she continues to mentor young students through the India Heritage Foundation NJ-NY.
