American Systems, a well-known provider of mission-critical engineering and IT solutions for federal clients, has elevated Srinivas Rautwar to the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective August 25. Rautwar takes over from Brian Neely, who retired after an impressive tenure of more than 20 years shaping the company’s technological vision.
In his new role, Rautwar will oversee the organization’s overall technology strategy, information security, and enterprise-wide IT management. As an employee-owned company, American Systems relies heavily on its leadership to drive innovation and maintain compliance with evolving federal requirements.
Expressing his gratitude, Rautwar acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor while outlining his own priorities. “It is a privilege to carry forward Brian’s legacy. My focus will be on expanding the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, upholding our security-first culture, and ensuring strict adherence to government regulations,” he said.
Rautwar has been part of American Systems since 2007 and brings over 25 years of experience in IT and business process improvement. His career includes leadership roles at global firms such as IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Cognizant Technology Solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from Sri Venkateswara University in India.
One of his notable recent achievements was steering American Systems toward successfully attaining the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 in June 2025. The company earned a flawless score of 110 during its assessment, placing it among a select group of federal contractors with this distinction.
John Steckel, President and CEO of American Systems, praised the decision, saying, “After reviewing both internal and external candidates, Srinivas clearly stood out as the right choice. His track record of building enterprise-level IT strategies, leading transformative projects, and aligning technology with long-term organizational goals makes him an invaluable addition to our executive team.”
With Rautwar at the helm of IT leadership, American Systems is poised to advance its mission of delivering cutting-edge, secure, and compliant technology solutions to federal clients across the United States.
