Wipro, a leading IT company, has appointed Srini Pallia as its new CEO and Managing Director, effective immediately, succeeding Thierry Delaporte. Rishad Premji, the Chairman of Wipro, expressed confidence in Pallia’s abilities, acknowledging his instrumental role in the company’s substantial evolution over the past four years. Premji praised Pallia’s client-centric approach, growth-oriented mindset, strong execution skills, and commitment to Wipro’s values as attributes that qualify him as an ideal leader for the company’s upcoming phase of expansion and profitability.
With over thirty years of experience at Wipro, Pallia will be based in New Jersey and will report directly to Premji. His tenure includes various leadership roles, notably as the CEO for Americas 1, Wipro’s largest and fastest-growing strategic market. Premji emphasized a seamless transition, confirming that Delaporte will continue until the end of May, collaborating closely with Pallia and himself. Pallia expressed his enthusiasm for guiding Wipro through its next growth phase, leveraging the groundwork laid by Delaporte.
Pallia’s extensive career at Wipro commenced in 1992 as a Product Manager, according to his LinkedIn profile. Throughout his journey, he has assumed diverse positions such as Marketing & Brand Manager, General Manager of US Central Operations, and Vice President of Enterprise Business in the US. Pallia has led transformative initiatives globally, serving as Senior Vice President & Global Head of Business Application Services before taking on the role of CEO for the Americas region.
Pallia earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering and his master’s in management studies from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
