The highly anticipated wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant promises to be a grand affair. According to reports from Hindustan Times, the Ambani family has arranged for three Falcon-2000 jets to transport their esteemed guests to Mumbai for the festivities this Friday. Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son is preparing to marry his longtime girlfriend in what is being described as one of the most lavish Indian weddings in recent memory.
Rajan Mehra, CEO of air charter company Club One Air, confirmed that the Ambanis have chartered three Falcon-2000 jets from his company for the occasion. He anticipates that over 100 private planes will be utilized during the wedding celebrations. “Guests are flying in from various locations, and each aircraft will make multiple trips across the country,” Mehra informed Reuters.
The extravagant event will be hosted at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the city’s business hub. To accommodate this high-profile affair, roads near the venue will be designated exclusively for ‘event vehicles’ from 1 pm to midnight between July 12 and 15. The Mumbai traffic police have issued advisories detailing the road restrictions during this period.
The main wedding ceremony is scheduled for Friday, July 12, followed by a day of blessings (Shubh Aashirwad) and a grand reception over the subsequent days. Traffic has already slowed around the venue, which is adorned with decorative lights and red flowers. Marigolds and vibrant yellow lights have been used to enhance the beauty of the trees surrounding Ambani’s towering 27-storey mansion, Antilia.
The upcoming weekend festivities mark the culmination of months of extravagant pre-wedding celebrations. The festivities began in Jamnagar and continued with a four-day luxury cruise in Europe, followed by a series of high-profile events in Mumbai over the past fortnight. These star-studded pre-wedding parties featured performances by global icons such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and the Backstreet Boys, entertaining a guest list that includes many of Bollywood’s top stars.
