The Consul General of India in New York, Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, will officially inaugurate the sixth International Hindi Conference, Americas, on October 25, 2024, at the Indian Consulate in New York City.
This year’s conference is designed to explore methods for expanding and enhancing the teaching of Hindi across the globe, as stated in a press release from the Hindi Sangam Foundation (HSF), which is the primary organizer in collaboration with the Indian Consulate.
Several Hindi experts and university educators from various regions of the USA and India are expected to attend, where they will showcase their work and discuss recent innovations in Hindi learning. Academic sessions and panel discussions will take place on the second day of the conference, culminating in a Hindi play directed by the New Jersey-based theater company, Prayog.
This marks the third such event hosted at the Consulate in approximately eight years. The inaugural event, referred to as the Third International Hindi Conference, took place at the Consulate in 2016.
Ashok Ojha, president of HSF and coordinator for the upcoming Sixth International Hindi Conference, noted that the sequence had been disrupted by the Covid pandemic. He also mentioned that the Fifth International Hindi Conference was successfully held in 2023, with the previous Consul General, Randhir Jaiswal, serving as the inaugural speaker.
Ojha expressed gratitude towards Consul General Binaya Srikanta Pradhan for maintaining the continuity of this event and allowing it to be held annually.
