Shikha Bajaj was celebrated as a transformational leader at the 13th Annual Congressional International Women’s Day Celebration, hosted by the American Multi-Ethnic Coalition (AMEC) on March 12, 2025. Known for her dedication to empowerment, inclusivity, and leadership, Bajaj has inspired individuals and organizations worldwide to break barriers and embrace their uniqueness.
Her award-winning book, Own Your Color, has been recognized as one of the top self-help books of the year, earning over 10 prestigious awards, including the BookFest Awards, International Impact Book Awards, and Book Excellence Award. Her influence as an author placed her among the Top 50 Most Influential Authors of 2024. Through her work, she has helped individuals and organizations achieve transformative growth, redefining leadership and mentorship.
Born in New Delhi, Bajaj’s journey to success was filled with challenges. She arrived in the U.S. with only $200, two suitcases, and immense determination. Despite being told she didn’t belong, she turned obstacles into opportunities, proving that resilience and grit can overcome any hurdle.
During her acceptance speech, she encouraged others with her inspiring words: “Be You. Be Bold. The world needs you as you are,” earning a resounding applause from the audience.
Following the AMEC event, Bajaj was honored at the Embassy of China, where she presented Own Your Color to the Top 20 Global Women of Excellence. Expressing gratitude to key supporters, including Mustafa Ajmeri of Global Entertainment and Media Services and Dr. VGP of AMEC, she also celebrated the extraordinary women recognized alongside her.
Her accolades continued on March 16, when she was named one of America’s Top 20 Women of Excellence at a Chicago ceremony hosted by the Global Strategic Alliance (GSA). Receiving the award from U.S. Representatives Danny K. Davis, Jonathan Jackson, Raja Krishnamoorthi, and other dignitaries, she dedicated the honor to women worldwide.
During the event, she shared an excerpt from Own Your Color:
“Women are strong, powerful, and brave,
Nobody can match their grit and grace.
When we unite, it’s a glorious sight,
We become each other’s light, making everything alright.”
She called on women to support and uplift one another, emphasizing collaboration over competition to create an inclusive world.
Beyond her impact on leadership and mentorship, Bajaj is driving innovation in healthcare. As a leader at Publicis Sapient, she spearheads digital transformation, improving accessibility and efficiency in the industry.
Her dedication to community service is equally significant. As a Board Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Mercer County and OneProject, she mentors future leaders. A portion of Own Your Color royalties supports BBBS, reinforcing her commitment to giving back.
Bajaj believes in leading with gratitude and service. Her philosophy, “Gratitude is the best attitude,” reflects her belief that success is measured by how many others we uplift. Her journey is a testament to resilience, mentorship, and empowerment, inspiring individuals worldwide to embrace their strengths and support those around them.
