The Ministry of Media in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has unveiled the second edition of its Global Harmony initiative, beginning with “India Week” on November 2 as part of the vibrant Riyadh Season celebrations. Designed under the Quality of Life Program, a key pillar of Saudi Vision 2030, the initiative celebrates the Kingdom’s multicultural society and recognizes the contributions of its diverse residents.
This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing emphasis on inclusivity, coexistence, and cultural exchange. By spotlighting the traditions, achievements, and creative expressions of various expatriate communities, it highlights how residents have helped enrich the Kingdom’s cultural and economic fabric through art, innovation, and community engagement.
Partnering with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), the Ministry has curated a calendar of events that highlight the richness of different world cultures. The celebrations opened with India Week, a vibrant tribute to the Indian community’s deep-rooted presence and enduring connection with Saudi Arabia. The event features an exciting mix of music, dance performances, traditional crafts, art displays, and Indian cuisine, bringing together artists and cultural figures from both nations to strengthen bilateral cultural ties.
Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan commended the initiative, calling it a “powerful platform to promote cultural understanding and people-to-people connections.” Reflecting on last year’s success, he added that the 2025 edition would be an even grander celebration of Indian art, music, dance, and handicrafts, further reinforcing the historical friendship between India and Saudi Arabia.
Beyond India Week, the Global Harmony 2025 lineup will celebrate the traditions of 14 nations, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Uganda, and Ethiopia, through concerts, exhibitions, and family-oriented cultural activities.
By spotlighting such global diversity, Saudi Arabia continues to advance its Vision 2030 goals, fostering a modern, inclusive society that embraces multiculturalism while deepening mutual respect and harmony among its people and international residents.
