Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy, a non-profit organization dedicated to offering vital healthcare services to disadvantaged communities, successfully hosted its highly anticipated second annual “We Are Already Making a Difference Gala!” on June 30, 2023. The remarkable event, which took place at 618 Restaurant in Freehold, was completely sold out, bringing together passionate supporters of the pharmacy to celebrate its impactful contributions.
The Gala raised an impressive amount of $75,000, which will be used to fund the pharmacy’s critical mission of providing life-saving medication to underserved communities.
Ritesh Shah, the Founder of Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy, expressed overwhelming gratitude for the tremendous support and enthusiasm shown at the 2nd Annual Gala. He emphasized that the event serves as a testament to the shared commitment to improving healthcare access for those in need. He extended heartfelt thanks to the supporters, volunteers, and sponsors who continue to make a lasting difference in the community.
During the evening, Cathleen Bennett from the NJ Hospital Association and County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago delivered inspiring speeches on the importance of accessible healthcare for all individuals, regardless of their socio-economic background. Their powerful messages resonated with the audience, highlighting the significance of Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy’s mission in bridging healthcare gaps within the community.
A special presentation was made to Joseph Howe, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools in Freehold Borough and pharmacy Board Member, unveiling “Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy’s Thyroid Resource Center” in loving memory of his late father, David E. Howe. Unfortunately, Senator Vin Gopal and Senator Declan O’Scanlon could not attend the event due to their critical involvement in finalizing the state budget. However, they expressed their gratitude and support for Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy and its mission. They also shared the wonderful news that the New Jersey State FY2024 budget has allocated a significant amount of $100,000 to support the organization, recognizing its significant impact on the lives of those in need. This funding will enable the pharmacy to expand its reach, provide essential medications, and deliver critical healthcare services to underprivileged community members.
Throughout the night, guests enjoyed dinner, cocktails, dessert, and a silent auction featuring exciting raffles. Renowned comedian Mike Marino provided laughter and entertainment with his Standup Comedy performance. Nicole Donadio from Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy presented a “Year in Review,” highlighting the impressive accomplishments of the pharmacy, such as filling 2,500 prescriptions for patients in need, resulting in savings of over $250,000 for patients. Overall, the event was a tremendous success and an important celebration of the crucial work carried out by Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy for the surrounding community. The organization will continue to provide patients with the best possible care, impacting lives, and creating a healthier future for all through medications, immunizations, health education, and pharmacy services.
