Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Ramayana has become the center of conversation across Bollywood circles ever since the teaser dropped in India on Hanuman Jayanti. The release instantly sparked mixed reactions online. While many fans admired the visuals and Ranbir’s performance, a section of viewers expressed concerns about the casting choices. Some felt that Ranbir might not perfectly fit the role of Lord Ram, while others questioned Sai Pallavi’s portrayal of Sita.
Despite the debate, Ranbir Kapoor remains fully confident in Sai Pallavi’s abilities. Speaking at a special screening in Los Angeles, Ranbir praised her acting prowess, saying, “Sai is an exceptional actor. From the very first day I saw her as Sita, I looked at Nitesh sir, and we both agreed she was perfect for the role.” He also highlighted Yash’s performance as Ravana, stating, “To embody Ravana, you need immense screen presence, and Yash brings exactly that aura.”
The teaser, released just yesterday, has divided fans across social media. While some appreciated Ranbir’s transformation and overall production, others suggested alternative actors like Ranveer Singh might have suited Lord Ram better. Additionally, certain audiences raised questions about the VFX quality and wondered if the film’s substantial budget was justified.
The teaser release coincided with Hanuman Jayanti, adding a spiritual dimension to the launch. Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus Studios shared, “Rama exemplifies choices that favor the greater good, placing duty over desire and sacrifice over self. His legacy continues to inspire humanity and reinforce belief in human goodness. Our Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, will bring this epic to cinemas worldwide.”
Ramayana Part 1 features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The film is scheduled to release this Diwali, promising a grand cinematic retelling of the legendary epic.
