Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has labeled China as a “major threat,” asserting that stronger ties between India and the United States could help mitigate China’s influence. In an exclusive interview with Times Now, Ramaswamy expressed confidence that Republicans will win the upcoming election, though he acknowledged it will be a competitive race until November.
He pointed out the border disputes India faces with China and discussed India’s position regarding Taiwan. “China presents a major threat to both India’s future security and the long-term security interests of the U.S.,” he stated, adding that enhancing production and trade relationships between the two nations could benefit both and contribute to regional stability.
Regarding Taiwan, he mentioned that understanding India’s position could be crucial in preventing potential conflicts, especially if a crisis arises in a China-Taiwan scenario.
When asked about his Indian heritage and Hindu identity potentially hindering his ambitions, Ramaswamy remarked that such authenticity is often rewarded in the U.S., which he described as one of the most inclusive countries in history.
Reflecting on his previous presidential campaign, he expressed disappointment but emphasized the lessons learned. As for a potential run in 2028, he stated, “We will see what the future holds in store.”
