Bollywood’s much-loved superhero franchise is preparing for its grand comeback, as filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has revealed exciting details about Krrish 4. In a recent interview, he confirmed that the film is scheduled for release in 2027, with pre-production already moving at a fast pace.
The director explained that scripting for the fourth installment was completed relatively quickly, but finalizing the budget was a bigger challenge. With the financial framework now secured, the team is ready to start production. According to Roshan, the extensive groundwork before filming is crucial, which is why pre-production efforts are currently in full swing. Shooting is expected to begin by the middle of next year.
Adding to the anticipation, Krrish 4 will showcase Hrithik Roshan in triple roles—a fresh twist for fans of the franchise. Reports also suggest that beloved cast members from earlier films, including Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi, and Rekha, may return to reprise their characters, adding a sense of continuity to the saga. This installment will reportedly shift between past and future timelines, giving the story a unique narrative arc.
When asked about the duration of filming, Rakesh Roshan clarified that the plan is to wrap production by late 2026, paving the way for a 2027 theatrical release.
For Hrithik Roshan, Krrish 4 marks both a return to his iconic role as Krishna Mehra (Krrish) and an ambitious step into direction, as this film will also serve as his directorial debut. His pride in the project is evident, as he has often expressed his deep personal connection to the franchise.
The actor was last seen in War 2, part of the YRF Spy Universe, alongside Jr NTR and Kiara Advani. Despite its high-profile release on August 14, 2025, the film underperformed at the box office, clashing with Rajinikanth’s Coolie. With Krrish 4, Hrithik is expected to bounce back strongly, once again donning the cape of India’s most recognized superhero.
Fans can now look forward to a film that blends action, emotion, and sci-fi storytelling, with a promise of bigger spectacles and a globally appealing narrative.
