Pratham USA has announced a leadership change at the helm of its National Board of Directors, with Raj Shah set to take over as Chair starting April 1, 2026. The transition follows the conclusion of the three-year term of outgoing Board Chair Dhiren Shethia, who will continue contributing as a National Board member beyond March 2026.
The leadership shift is part of a planned succession strategy aimed at maintaining continuity and advancing the organization’s mission. Shah, who has served as Vice Chair of the National Board, has been actively involved with Pratham USA for several years, demonstrating a deep commitment to large-scale educational initiatives and improved learning outcomes for children.
During his tenure, Shethia strengthened board governance, championed broader and more diverse board representation, and supported strategic growth initiatives. Under his guidance, Pratham USA solidified its national presence and expanded its capacity to mobilize resources for education-focused programs across the United States.
Raj Shah brings a wealth of leadership experience to the role. He is currently co-CEO of MSI and previously held senior positions in investment banking at Lehman Brothers. Shah also contributes to the boards of Pratham USA’s Los Angeles chapter and the Orange County chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization, reflecting his longstanding dedication to community and education.
“Pratham’s mission has always resonated with me, and I am honored to assume the role of Board Chair,” Shah said. “I look forward to building upon the strong foundation laid by my predecessor and collaborating closely with the board and leadership team to amplify Pratham’s impact nationwide.”
Pratham USA CEO Manisha Bharti praised Shethia’s leadership, highlighting his strategic guidance and commitment to strengthening the organization’s reach. Bharti also expressed confidence in Shah’s ability to lead Pratham USA through its next phase of growth, leveraging his institutional knowledge and vision to support innovative education programs.
Pratham USA continues to focus on large-scale initiatives designed to improve learning outcomes for children and young people, drawing support from its national network of chapters to mobilize resources and foster educational opportunities across the country.
