Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a visit to Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand, where he engaged in significant religious ceremonies and interactions with local residents and security forces. His itinerary included offering prayers at Parvati Kund, along with a ‘darshan’ of the holy Adi Kailash in the district of Pithoragarh.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi took part in various events, including inaugurating and dedicating developmental projects valued at approximately $50 million. In a social media post, he expressed his government’s commitment to the welfare and rapid development of Uttarakhand, particularly in the region of Pithoragarh.
As part of this tour, PM Modi eagerly anticipated darshan and worship at Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Dham, both of which hold significant spiritual importance. Cultural troupes from the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand welcomed the Prime Minister along a beautifully decorated 6-kilometer road adorned with murals and paintings during his journey from Naini Saini airport to a public meeting venue.
His schedule included interactions with locals and an exhibition displaying the region’s art and products in Gunji village. Furthermore, the Prime Minister dedicated time to meet with dedicated personnel from the Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
The visit’s highlight occurred when PM Modi reached Pithoragarh, where he inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for a variety of development projects encompassing rural development, road infrastructure, power supply, irrigation, drinking water facilities, horticulture, education, health services, and disaster management, among other sectors. This substantial list of projects included the launch of 76 rural roads and 25 bridges under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and the unveiling of 15 new buildings for Block Development Offices (BDO) in nine districts, strengthening the administrative framework in the region.
