Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the beginning of an e-auction featuring over 600 mementoes and gifts he has received during public events. The diverse collection includes stunning sculptures, traditional art, regional artefacts, indigenous crafts, and memorabilia from the 2024 Paralympic Games, all presented to PM Modi.
Those interested in participating can register and submit their bids on the official auction site, PM Mementos, available at https://pmmementos.gov.in/. In a post on X, PM Modi shared his excitement about the auction and its cause: “Every year, I auction the mementoes I receive, with the proceeds supporting the Namami Gange initiative. This year’s auction is now live, and I encourage everyone to explore the collection and bid for what resonates with them.”
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also highlighted the significance of this auction, emphasising how it not only preserves historical items but also contributes to public welfare. The auction, which began on September 17, will continue until October 2, offering participants the chance to own unique items while supporting the greater good.
Those interested in viewing the mementoes in person can visit the National Gallery of Modern Art, Jaipur House, New Delhi, from 11 AM to 6 PM. The funds raised from this auction will support the Namami Gange Project, a central government initiative aimed at reducing pollution and revitalising the Ganga River.
