On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi set out on a significant journey to Poland and Ukraine.
Before departing from New Delhi for these pivotal visits, Prime Minister Modi expressed his enthusiasm for laying the groundwork for stronger and more dynamic relations between India and these two nations in the coming years. His trip coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and Poland.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi highlighted the importance of his visit to Poland, emphasizing that Poland is a vital economic partner in Central Europe. He expressed eagerness to meet with Polish leaders, Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda, to advance the partnership. Additionally, he plans to engage with the Indian community in Poland.
Following his time in Poland, PM Modi will proceed to Ukraine, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country, as invited by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Prime Minister looks forward to discussing the enhancement of bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on the peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He expressed hope for a swift return to peace and stability in the region.
PM Modi’s visit to Poland, scheduled for August 21-22, will involve meetings with Polish leaders and interactions with the Indian diaspora. After his Polish engagements, he will travel to Ukraine, where he will further discuss conflict resolution with Ukrainian officials.
The Ministry of External Affairs’ spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, announced on X that PM Modi has boarded his flight to Warsaw, kicking off his two-nation tour. The agenda for his visit includes substantial discussions with Polish leaders and interactions with Indian community members, business leaders, and notable Polish figures.
