Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a scathing critique of the TMC-led government during a public rally in Barrackpore, West Bengal. He accused the state administration of reallocating quotas meant for SC/STs and OBCs to the Muslim community, labeling it as unfair. Modi asserted the BJP’s growing influence in the region, emphasizing West Bengal’s significance and criticizing the Congress’s lengthy rule for failing to alleviate poverty in Eastern India.
In his address, Modi condemned the alleged efforts by the TMC to marginalize Hindus and highlighted concerns about what he referred to as “vote-jihad.” He criticized the IND alliance for advocating reservation based on religion, stressing his commitment to safeguarding the rights of all marginalized groups.
Transitioning to another rally in Hooghly, PM Modi unveiled a triple-benefit scheme aimed at providing free electricity to households in Bengal. He elaborated on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, designed to subsidize solar panel installations, potentially benefiting millions across India while reducing government expenditure on electricity.
Further, Modi lamented the decline of Barrackpore, once a thriving hub now plagued by scams and illegal activities. He reiterated his government’s pledges, including guarantees against religious discrimination and upholding Supreme Court verdicts.
At subsequent rallies in different districts, Modi criticized the opposition’s portrayal of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as detrimental, arguing its intent was to provide citizenship. He accused the TMC and Congress of divisive politics and highlighted the BJP’s support for marginalized communities, particularly the SCs. Modi contrasted the BJP’s increased budget allocation for SC welfare with the comparatively lower funding during Congress rule, presenting it as evidence of his party’s commitment to social justice.
