Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of significant development initiatives in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday. Among these, the PM initiated the Ken-Betwa River linking project, India’s first interlinking of rivers under a national perspective plan. This ambitious initiative aims to provide extensive irrigation benefits to districts in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, positively impacting lakhs of farming families.
During his speech, PM Modi praised the progress made under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s leadership, emphasizing the new momentum in development. He congratulated the residents of Madhya Pradesh for these transformative projects. Additionally, the Prime Minister unveiled a commemorative stamp and coin to honor the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and laid the foundation stone for 1,153 Atal Gram Sushasan buildings. These structures aim to strengthen governance at the village level by enhancing the functioning of Gram Panchayats.
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Floating Solar Project at Omkareshwar in Khandwa district. This innovative project is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions and support the government’s net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2070. It will also aid in water conservation by minimizing evaporation.
These initiatives collectively represent a monumental stride in regional development, governance, and environmental sustainability in Madhya Pradesh.
