They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UK, covering areas such as trade, investment, technology, defense, security, and health.
Additionally, the leaders welcomed the progress in negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the UK, which began in 2022. They also discussed the ongoing Cricket World Cup, with Sunak congratulating PM Modi on India’s strong performance in the tournament. They look forward to the Test series between India and England in January. The leaders agreed to remain in touch and exchanged greetings for the festive occasion of Deepavali.
