Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet all seven all-party delegations that represented India during its global outreach following Operation Sindoor. The meetings are expected to be held around June 9 or 10. These delegations were dispatched to different parts of the world to communicate India’s stance on cross-border terrorism and highlight the rationale behind the recent counter-offensive after the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.
Before the Prime Minister’s meeting, the delegates will begin a debriefing session with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar starting June 3. The first to report will be the delegation led by BJP’s Jay Panda, who visited Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria. This group departed on May 24 and is scheduled to meet Jaishankar at 2:30 PM today.
Next to return is the team led by JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha, which is expected to arrive in Delhi by 9:30 PM. Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Shinde-led delegation will return on June 4. The seven delegations were composed of nearly 60 Members of Parliament and former diplomats, divided into groups of 8 to 9 members, each headed by a senior leader.
These delegations visited a total of 33 countries, including members of the European Union, to deliver briefings to foreign governments, elected officials, and policy experts on Pakistan’s sustained promotion of terrorism and India’s recalibrated response following Operation Sindoor.
The effort was led by leaders from across party lines, including Congress’s Shashi Tharoor, BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad, DMK’s Kanimozhi, NCP’s Supriya Sule, and others. The upcoming meeting with the Prime Minister will serve to evaluate the global impact of India’s diplomatic offensive and align future steps in its counter-terror strategy.
