Prime Minister Narendra Modi will mark a historic step in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on Wednesday by laying the foundation stone of India’s first PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park. The event coincides with his 75th birthday and will also see the launch of the fortnight-long Sewa Pakhwada, a public service initiative running from September 17 to October 2.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav confirmed that the Prime Minister will also introduce the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan at Bhainsola village. This program aims to strengthen women’s health and family welfare through a series of activities, including health and nutrition camps at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and Community Health Centers. Blood donation drives will be encouraged, alongside state-wide screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, anemia, and tuberculosis.
The campaign also emphasizes maternal and child care, with prenatal checkups and nutrition counseling forming a key part of the outreach. Additionally, teenage girls will benefit from awareness workshops on menstrual hygiene and balanced diets. Chief Minister Yadav highlighted that these steps reflect the Prime Minister’s long-term vision of building a healthier society and a stronger India, aligning with the broader Developed India 2047 mission.
The PM MITRA Park project itself has already generated significant interest. More than $2.7 billion in investment proposals have been received from 114 leading textile companies. Once fully developed, the park is expected to create over 300,000 jobs, transforming the economic landscape of the region and improving countless lives. The project is designed on the “5F” model—Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign—creating an integrated ecosystem for India’s textile sector.
Out of the total 2,158 acres allocated for the park, approximately 1,300 acres have already been assigned to various investors. The remaining land is being released in phases to accelerate development. Officials describe the project as not just an industrial hub, but a life-changing initiative for thousands of families in the state.
This will be Modi’s second birthday celebration in Madhya Pradesh. In 2022, he had released cheetahs imported from Namibia into Kuno National Park, an initiative that marked the world’s first intercontinental relocation of wild carnivores under Project Cheetah.
