According to a press statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a busy two-day tour of Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Rajasthan from July 7 to 8. During this visit, he will unveil significant infrastructure projects in the highway, railway, and power sectors, with a total value of $7.4 billion (equivalent to Rs 50,000 million) as per the press statement.
The press statement specified that PM Modi will first visit Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh on July 7, followed by Telangana and Rajasthan on July 8.
In Raipur, the Prime Minister will participate in an event where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for five National Highway projects in Chhattisgarh, worth approximately $854 million (equivalent to Rs 6,400 million). These projects will enhance tourism and facilitate the transportation of raw materials and finished products, improving connectivity with states like Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for three National Highway projects for the Chhattisgarh section of the 6-lane Greenfield Raipur – Visakhapatnam corridor.
Moreover, he will dedicate the completed Raipur – Khariar Road Rail Line, which stretches 103 km and was executed at a cost of $100 million (equivalent to Rs 750 million).
From Raipur, the Prime Minister will proceed to Gorakhpur, where he will participate in the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of Gita Press. He will also launch two Vande Bharat trains connecting Gorakhpur – Lucknow and Jodhpur – Ahmedabad (Sabarmati), and lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Gorakhpur Railway Station.
In Varanasi, his home constituency, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects worth over $1.6 billion (equivalent to Rs 12,100 million). These include the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Junction-Son Nagar railway line of the Dedicated Freight Corridor, a four-lane widening of the Varanasi-Jaunpur section of NH-56, and the redevelopment of Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghats. Additionally, he will distribute loans under the PMSVANidhi scheme, keys of PMAY Rural houses, and Ayushman cards to beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh.
On July 8, the Prime Minister will visit Warangal in Telangana, where he will lay the foundation stone for road and railway infrastructure projects worth approximately $820 million (equivalent to Rs 6,100 million).
Lastly, in Bikaner, Rajasthan, PM Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over $3.2 billion (equivalent to Rs 24,300 million). These projects include a six-lane greenfield expressway section of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor, covering a distance of more than 310 miles (500 km) in Rajasthan. The expressway, costing around $1.5 billion (equivalent to Rs 11,125 million), will significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity between major cities and industrial corridors. Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the phase-I of the Inter-State Transmission Line for Green Energy Corridor, valued at around $1.4 billion (equivalent to Rs 10,950 million), which will bolster the power sector in the region. He will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Bikaner Railway station, with an estimated cost of $60 million (equivalent to Rs 450 million).
