Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the new Seva Teerth complex tomorrow, bringing together the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Cabinet Secretariat, and National Security Council Secretariat in a single, modern facility, the PMO announced. Situated on Dara Shikoh Road, this project is a central part of the government’s larger Central Vista redevelopment plan.
During the inauguration, PM Modi will officially unveil the name “Seva Teerth” and open the two office buildings, Kartavya Bhawan 1 and 2. A public programme is planned in the evening. Since India’s independence, the PMO has operated from South Block, and the move to Seva Teerth represents a major step toward modern, efficient, and citizen-centric governance.
Seva Teerth is designed to centralize offices that were previously spread across multiple locations, promoting collaboration, streamlined operations, and enhanced administrative efficiency. Kartavya Bhawan 1 and 2 will host several key ministries, including finance, defence, health and family welfare, corporate affairs, education, culture, law and justice, information and broadcasting, agriculture and farmers welfare, chemical and fertilisers, and tribal affairs.
The buildings feature digitally integrated workspaces, public interaction zones, and centralized reception areas to facilitate seamless governance, employee well-being, and improved citizen engagement. Constructed to 4-Star GRIHA standards, the complex incorporates renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and high-performance building envelopes.
Advanced technology has been incorporated to ensure security and operational efficiency, including smart access control, surveillance networks, and an emergency response system. The inauguration of Seva Teerth marks a transformative milestone in India’s administrative infrastructure, reflecting the government’s commitment to modern, sustainable, and effective governance for the 21st century.
