Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go on a state visit to the US next month that will emphasize the rising importance of bilateral strategic relations.
Both sides will reflect on their vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on May 10. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden invited Modi, according to the MEA, and he will attend a state dinner on June 22.
The White House declared on Wednesday (local time) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US next month will reaffirm the “deep and close partnership” between the two countries and the warm ties between the people of the US and India.
“We just announced that the President and the First Lady will be hosting Prime Minister Modi of the Republic of India for an official state visit, which will include a state dinner on June 22nd,” said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
According to her, the two leaders would emphasize their respective countries’ shared commitment to an Indo-Pacific region that is free, open, economic, and secure. According to the White House Press Secretary, Biden, and PM Modi will talk about ways to strengthen their mutually beneficial educational and interpersonal ties.
Following Biden’s election as president, this will be Modi’s first state visit to the US. In September 2021, the prime minister traveled to Washington to take part in the inaugural in-person Quad Leaders Summit. During that trip, Modi and Biden had a private meeting.
