In a continued push for job creation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand out more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly hired candidates across multiple central government departments on Saturday at 11 a.m., using video conferencing for the distribution ceremony. The event is part of the Rozgar Mela—a flagship employment initiative launched in October 2022 to fast-track public sector recruitment.
During the virtual gathering, PM Modi will also speak to the new recruits, offering motivation and outlining the government’s vision for active youth participation in nation-building. The effort reinforces the administration’s commitment to accelerating job generation and enhancing the public sector’s delivery of essential services.
This marks the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela, which will be held simultaneously at 47 centers nationwide. Selected candidates will join ministries and departments including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Posts, Department of Financial Services, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
So far, over 1 million appointment letters have already been distributed through these recruitment fairs, signaling the government’s determination to reduce unemployment and expand opportunities for young Indians. Recruits are drawn from across the country, representing diverse backgrounds and regions, and are expected to contribute significantly to the strengthening of public institutions.
The Rozgar Mela initiative has not only expedited the government’s hiring processes but has also helped fill critical vacancies in departments that directly interact with citizens—such as schools, hospitals, railways, police stations, and tax offices. Additionally, it has boosted defense and security forces through timely enlistments, ensuring India’s borders and national interests remain well-protected.
By offering large-scale job opportunities in mission mode, Rozgar Mela stands as a symbol of the government’s employment-first strategy and its vision to empower the youth as key drivers of India’s development trajectory. The upcoming distribution event will once again highlight the Centre’s focus on turning India’s demographic dividend into a national strength.
