Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the 9th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting on Saturday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre. This year’s meeting will center on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’, focusing on transforming India into a developed nation by the year 2047.
The agenda includes discussions on the Approach Paper for the Vision Document regarding Viksit Bharat@2047. The meeting aims to promote collaborative governance and strengthen partnerships between the Centre and State Governments. The goal is to improve the quality of life for all Indians by enhancing government service delivery mechanisms.
The session will also explore the crucial role of states in achieving the Viksit Bharat vision. India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy, with a GDP surpassing USD 5 trillion and ambitions to reach USD 30 trillion by 2047. Achieving this vision will necessitate a united effort from both the Centre and State governments.
Furthermore, the meeting will review recommendations from the 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries, held in December 2023. Key discussions from that conference included cyber security, the aspirational districts and blocks programme, state roles, and the impact of AI on governance.
The Prime Minister, as Chairperson of NITI Aayog, will be joined by Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, Union Ministers, and other key officials at the meeting.
