Ayodhya is preparing for one of its most anticipated spiritual events as the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust announced that the ceremonial flag hoisting on the Ram Temple’s main spire will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025—celebrated traditionally as the wedding day of Lord Ram. The Trust’s General Secretary, Champat Rai, confirmed the plans, highlighting the deep cultural and religious significance the day holds for devotees across India.
Rai shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present for the ceremony, which marks a historic moment in the ongoing development of the Ram Temple. He added that authorities are fully equipped to handle the large crowds expected in Ayodhya for the celebration. According to him, visiting dignitaries, including the Prime Minister, are expected to depart around 2 PM, ensuring that the event’s schedule is managed smoothly without causing inconvenience to the public.
This year’s celebrations are expected to be especially vibrant. Temple officials revealed that all subsidiary shrines—including those dedicated to Lord Mahadev, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Suryadev, Maa Bhagwati, Maa Annapurna, and Sheshavatar—will be extensively decorated. Preparations have been underway for several weeks to ensure that the festival reflects both grandeur and devotion.
Rituals will be conducted by a group of 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi, and South India, under the leadership of renowned Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri. A saffron flag bearing the symbol of the Sun—associated with divine brilliance, energy, and righteousness—will be hoisted atop the temple’s shikhara as part of the ceremony.
Ram Temple Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra also briefed the media on the ongoing preparations. He stated that arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit are being finalised in coordination with the Prime Minister’s Office, ensuring that he can review the temple premises and the progress of ongoing works. Mishra noted that most construction is now complete, with current efforts focused on beautification, landscaping, and fine-tuning of the temple surroundings.
He added that technical experts, including specialists from the Defence Ministry, are assessing the requirements for the flag-hoisting process to ensure that it is conducted safely and flawlessly. “Our goal is to ensure a smooth, dignified ceremony on November 25,” Mishra said, expressing confidence in the preparations.
