Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media on February 27 to share his reflections on the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh, describing it as a “Maha Yagya of unity.” In a post on X, he expressed his admiration for the overwhelming participation of 1.4 billion people during the 45-day event in Prayagraj.
Modi called the gathering a powerful display of faith and national unity, highlighting how millions came together to celebrate this spiritual occasion. He also linked his blog, “Maha Kumbh of Unity: The Sound of Change of Era,” where he elaborated on the festival’s deeper significance. According to him, the Maha Kumbh represents a shift in India’s consciousness, breaking free from historical constraints and stepping into a new era of progress.
The prime minister recalled the sacred atmosphere of the event, where saints, devotees, and people of all ages gathered to immerse themselves in faith. He also drew parallels to historical moments of unity in Prayagraj, such as Lord Ram’s meeting with Nishadraj, reinforcing the idea that the city has long been a symbol of harmony.
PM Modi noted that the sheer scale of Maha Kumbh has made it an essential study for modern management professionals. He emphasized how millions arrived at the Triveni Sangam without formal invitations, driven purely by faith. He expressed amazement at the participation, particularly from young people, stating that their enthusiasm signified India’s commitment to preserving and carrying forward its cultural heritage.
Reflecting on the event’s impact, Modi stated that the Maha Kumbh demonstrated India’s growing self-confidence. He noted that the number of attendees surpassed expectations, nearly doubling previous estimates. He described this as evidence of India’s renewed energy and progress.
The prime minister also emphasized the importance of river conservation, linking the purity of the Ganga and Yamuna to India’s collective responsibility. He urged citizens to maintain their commitment to environmental stewardship, inspired by the spiritual significance of the rivers.
PM Modi expressed gratitude to the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government for successfully managing the event. He acknowledged the contributions of sanitation workers, law enforcement, and residents of Prayagraj, crediting their dedication to making the Maha Kumbh a success.
In closing, Modi remarked that while the physical event had concluded on Maha Shivratri, its spirit of unity and devotion would continue to inspire generations. Looking ahead, he vowed to offer prayers at the Somnath temple, reinforcing his commitment to India’s cultural and spiritual journey.
