Commending the crucial contributions of over 100 women scientists in the success of Chandrayaan-3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the mission’s embodiment of women’s strength and capabilities. In his address on the Mann Ki Baat episode, PM Modi highlighted the integral roles held by women scientists and engineers within the Chandrayaan-3 project, from project directors to system managers. He lauded their ambitious pursuit of space exploration, noting that this determination signifies India’s development.
Recalling his Independence Day speech, PM Modi reiterated the need to fortify women-led development as a national trait. He pointed to the pivotal role played by women scientists in the Chandrayaan-3 mission as a demonstration of this principle.
The successful accomplishment of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, as shown on August 23, stood as evidence that determination and resolution can illuminate even the unexplored realms. This triumph symbolized the spirit of a progressive India, poised to overcome challenges and forge new paths, irrespective of obstacles, the Prime Minister noted.
PM Modi acknowledged the collaborative efforts that led to the success of Chandrayaan-3. He emphasized that it was not only the scientists but also various sectors and individuals who contributed to its realization. The unity of these efforts resulted in the mission’s ultimate success. PM Modi expressed his hopes for continued collective achievements in the space sector.
He mentioned India’s readiness to host the G-20 leaders summit, welcoming heads of state from 40 countries and several global organizations. Highlighting India’s efforts to broaden G-20’s inclusivity, PM Modi stated that under India’s presidency, the African Union joined the platform, amplifying the voice of Africa.
PM Modi also commended the shift from centralizing major events in Delhi, instead hosting them in different cities across the country. The G-20 meetings in 60 cities showcased India’s diversity and democracy, impressing international delegates.
In reference to the G-20 Engagement Groups, PM Modi affirmed the engagement of various sectors such as academia, civil society, youth, women, parliamentarians, and urban administrators. This approach, involving over 15 million people, led to public participation and the creation of two world records—an interactive G-20 Quiz and a collection of unique patches by Lambani artisans.
