Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to the people of India on the occasion of Diwali, describing the festival as a celebration filled with energy, hope, and enthusiasm. In a letter to the nation, he noted that this year’s Deepavali is the second to be celebrated following the completion of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a landmark achievement symbolizing faith and cultural heritage.
Citing lessons from the life of Lord Ram, PM Modi highlighted Operation Sindoor as a living example of upholding righteousness while confronting injustice. He emphasized that the operation showcased India’s commitment to justice and the courage to overcome wrongdoing. “Lord Shri Ram teaches us to uphold righteousness and to fight injustice. Operation Sindoor demonstrated this spirit, as the nation not only upheld righteousness but also addressed injustice effectively,” he wrote.
The Prime Minister underscored the significance of this year’s celebrations, pointing out that lamps will shine across numerous districts, including remote areas where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been successfully eradicated. He lauded those who have renounced violence and reintegrated into society, embracing the Indian Constitution—a development he described as a major milestone for the country.
PM Modi also highlighted recent reforms that impact citizens directly. The introduction of lower GST rates on the first day of Navratri, celebrated as the “GST Bachat Utsav” (Savings Festival), has reportedly saved Indians thousands of crores of rupees. These reforms, he noted, position India as a stable and sensitive nation amid global challenges, paving the way for the country to become the world’s third-largest economy in the near future.
Emphasizing national responsibility, the Prime Minister urged citizens to contribute to building a “Viksit” (developed) and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India). He called for the adoption of Swadeshi products, respect for all languages, prioritization of health, cleanliness, reduced oil consumption, and the practice of Yoga. “By taking these steps collectively, we can accelerate India’s journey toward becoming a truly developed nation,” Modi wrote, reinforcing the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
