On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk engaged in a delegation-level meeting in Warsaw, Poland. Modi’s visit began with a grand ceremonial reception at the Federal Chancellery, where he was warmly welcomed by Tusk.
This visit marks the first time an Indian Prime Minister has traveled to Poland in 45 years, signaling a significant boost to the India-Poland partnership. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that this visit is poised to infuse new energy into the bilateral relationship.
During his trip, Modi announced a new social security agreement between India and Poland, aimed at strengthening ties in areas like new technology and clean energy. He also noted the growing connection through Kabaddi, as Poland prepares to host its first Kabaddi championship this year.
Addressing the Indian community in Warsaw, Modi emphasised that innovation and youth will drive the development of both nations. He shared the exciting news about the social security agreement, which he believes will benefit many.
Modi’s trip to Warsaw marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and Poland. Following his engagements in Poland, Modi will travel to Ukraine, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country, at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
