Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with the recipients of the National Teachers’ Award 2023 in advance of an award ceremony. He highlighted how these teachers are shaping a brighter future for India’s youth within their classrooms.
As per an official statement, the President, Droupadi Murmu, will confer the awards on September 5th. The awardees comprise 50 school teachers, 13 educators from higher education institutions, and 12 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Each recipient will receive a certificate of merit, a cash prize of ₹50,000, and a silver medal.
The National Teachers’ Award serves the purpose of celebrating the distinctive contributions of teachers in the country. It recognizes and honors those teachers who, through their unwavering commitment and dedication, have not only enhanced the quality of education but also enriched the lives of their students, as stated by a senior Education Ministry official quoted by PTI.
