With a strong emphasis on improving travel convenience, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled a comprehensive plan to enhance multimodal connectivity in India. This initiative includes the modernization and upgradation of the Indian Railways and its stations. During the launch of nine Vande Bharat trains, PM Modi affirmed his government’s commitment to revamp railway stations in line with the Ek Bharat Sreshth Bharat philosophy. He specifically mentioned that several railway stations, still bearing remnants of colonial rule, would undergo transformation into Amrit Bharat railway stations.
The introduction of Vande Bharat trains symbolizes India’s progressive growth and economic development, serving as a testament to the nation’s evolving capabilities. Simultaneously, efforts are underway to establish new transport routes, reducing logistical challenges and travel durations for transporters.
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated nine Vande Bharat trains that connect various religious and tourist destinations across 11 states, namely Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat. This move is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and stimulate tourism throughout India.
PM Modi also announced a large-scale nationwide cleanliness campaign scheduled for October 1, urging all citizens to participate at 10 am. To commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, he encouraged the purchase of Khadi, handloom products, and other handicraft items, promoting the “vocal for local” initiative and supporting local craftsmanship.
