During the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated projects valued at US$ 144.8 million (Rs. 1,200 crore). He commended the significant role of the renowned Amul brand, operated by GCMMF, in Ahmedabad, praising it as a symbol of trust, development, and empowerment for farmers. Modi urged Amul to pursue global leadership in the dairy market, given its status as the 8th largest dairy company, assuring full government support. Highlighting Gujarat’s crucial role in cooperative milk production and its impact on India’s economy, he cited initiatives like Direct Benefit Transfer, injecting over US$ 18.1 million (Rs. 150 crore) to aid milk producers. Additionally, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to women’s financial empowerment through programs like Mudra Yojana, providing assistance exceeding US$ 362.1 billion (Rs. 30 lakh crore) to almost 70% of women.
During his visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi unveiled projects totaling over US$ 2.8 billion (Rs. 22,850 crore) across vital sectors including road, rail, energy, health, internet connectivity, urban development, water supply, and tourism. This comprehensive initiative, covering districts like Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Anand, Mahesana, and others, underscores the government’s dedication to holistic regional development and infrastructure improvement.
