During the 107th episode of his monthly broadcast, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi acknowledged the profound shock caused by the heinous attack, stating it remains an indelible part of India’s history.
Reflecting on the courage and resilience of the country, PM Modi highlighted that India, in the face of such terror, now responds with strength and determination. He specifically addressed the significance of the day when India confronted this grievous act of terrorism, emphasizing the collective strength that enabled the nation to overcome the tragedy.
Expressing his condolences, PM Modi paid tribute to both the lives lost and the bravery exhibited by individuals who sacrificed themselves in defense of the nation. The 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, perpetrated by 10 well-trained Pakistani terrorists, resulted in the tragic loss of 166 lives, including six US citizens. The attackers carried out a relentless 60-hour siege on various iconic and vital locations in Mumbai, including Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Hotel Taj, Trident Hotel, and Nariman House—a Jewish Centre, leaving an indelible mark on India’s history.
