Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day election campaign journey in Odisha, commencing today. A highlight of his itinerary includes a 2.5 km roadshow, scheduled to kick off at 8 pm from the BJP state headquarters at Ram Mandir Square and culminate at Vanivihar. Anticipating a massive turnout, organizers estimate that over two lakh individuals will join the procession. Modi’s campaign agenda extends to Saturday, where he is slated to deliver speeches at poll rallies in Bargarh, Phulbani, and Bargarh.
Aparajita Sarangi, BJP’s representative from Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency, underlines the opportunity for spectators to catch a glimpse of Prime Minister Modi as his motorcade traverses key locations like Ram Mandir Square, IDBI Square, Rupali Square, and Vanivihar. The route itself, spanning 2.5 km, features ten platforms showcasing Odisha’s vibrant art and culture. Notably, a replica of the Konark Chakra, which Modi presented during the G-20 summit in New Delhi in 2023, will be on display during the roadshow.
Further detailing the Prime Minister’s schedule, Mohapatra outlines three successive meetings slated for Saturday. Modi’s engagements include a session at Phulbani’s Stadium Ground in the Kandhamal Lok Sabha constituency, followed by public addresses in Bolangir and Bargarh. The Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police, in preparation for the roadshow, has implemented traffic restrictions along Janpath, effective from 2 pm until its conclusion. Stringent security measures, including the deployment of bomb squads, dog squads, and a substantial police presence, underscore the significance of Modi’s visit, his second to Odisha in a span of five days, following engagements in Berhampur and Nabarangpur earlier in the week.
